The State of the war

(April 28th - Combat Stats & Records)
(BE) The campaign started on Apr 11 1631 CT. Wehrmacht have deployed 463.693 units so far against FAF's 248.330 and the BEF's 198.979. On land, in the air on the sea and rivers the fight for control of Western Europe continues. The frontline stretches from Venray in the north of Holland to St. Vith northeast of Luxembourg to Saarlouis in Germany with a small pocket of encircled german ground troops in Faulquemont, France.

On land Das Heer fields regular infantry, PzIIIF, Pz38t, PzIIc, Stug III, PzIVD, PzIIIH, SdKfz 232, Pz IVg, StuG IIIG, Opel, SdKfz 7, 251, Pak 36, Flak 36, Flak 30, 4cm Flak28, Pak38 and the Pak40 against the BEF Army's infantry, A13, Matilda, Vickers, Daimler, Crusader, Crusader III, Churchill 3, Bedford, Morris, 2pdr, Mle 38, Bofors, QF 6pdr and the potent QF 17pdr. The FAF Army fields infantry, Char B1, R35, S35, Panhard, H39, Stuart, Sherman, M10-TD, Laffly, Laffly W15, Mle 1934, Mle 1937, Mle 38, FR Bofors, 57mm M1 and 3in M5. The OKW have reported 215 495 casualties in Das Heer to compare to the Allies losses of 233 833.

In the air Luftwaffe fields the Stuka, He-111, Bf-110C4/B, Ju52, 109E, Bf110c and 109F against the the Royal Airforce's Blen IV, Havoc I, Ju52, Spit MkI, Hurri MkI, Blen I, Spit MkVb and Hurri MkII. The French Airforce fields the Blen IV, DB7, Ju52, Hawk 75, H520, H81 and Bell 14a. Luftwaffe reports that they lost 28 088 planes against the Allies casualty count of 38 122.

On the sea and rivers Kriegsmarine fields the Fairmile, Z34 and DE Freight against the Royal Navy and their Fairmile, British DD and UK Freight as well as the French Navy's Fairmile, French DD and FR Freight. Kriegsmarine lost 1 462 ships against the Allies 1 609. Althou outnumbered the Kriegsmarine sunk 241 british and french Destroyers and lost 189.

"We can persecute you..."

(OKH) Battleground Europe can be proud to sport a High Command (HC) on both sides of the war. The HC was started by players for those players who wanted to be part of a large operations and an organisation and it was later implemented with tools into the game. For example in 2004 you had to apply to the Officer Candidate School (OCS) and be accepted then assigned a trainer and start your theoretical as well as in the field training, the total time for OCS was six weeks and far from all passed and recieved the rank of Lt. Colonel and a position in one of the three branches! Today you just fill out a form and your off to command other players, you do not want people to attack a target, simple, just move the brigade, you don't like a squad/individual, just check out where they are and move a brigade. You can shout at them, fark them over and mess up a whole campaign, not only battles, and heres the good thing, you do not have to pay anything more then those you fark over and you will be safe in your position. Sounds awesome? Sure does for those characters who ninja-loot in WoW, LotRO or just generally want to Leroy Jenkins anyone elses experience of the game they bought. This is how it is right now in Battleground Europe and things are not getting better.

Sometimes people in a war simulator takes things a little to far as one of the soldiers (name replaced with "soldier") experienced. Driving a panzer from Remagen the soldier received word from one of the German High Commander (name replaced with Kommandeur), all the Kommandeur wrote was of course in caps but we changed it because it is just juvenile. What is amazing with this conversation is the total lack of decency from the Kommandeur who works on a CRS mandate to lead the other players... and in the end after farking things up he just loggs off and all the time he wasn't even in the game! The Soldier on the other hand took the time to get a fresh panzer from another brigade to try and flank a friendly town under siege and is threatened by "persecution".

Kommandeur: " Yo what r u guys doing?!"
Kommandeur: " Soldier, tell me now or your getting reported for destroying axis tanks"
Soldier: " Waiting for the attack to start here or moving to the next town"
Kommanduer: " 1.2 is going for Meck. RTB and wait for brig move"
Soldier: " Were you at I cant see any tags"
Kommandeur: " Im on map not ingame"
Soldier: " I would rather flank then to spawn into a camped town"
Kommandeur: " Meck aint camped"
Soldier: " You moving it to eusik?"
Kommanduer: " Watch"
.... ORDERS: No link to brigade
Soldier: " I came from Rem, Im at Meck"
Kommandeur: " Don't spawn tanks from towns that aren't on front plz, we can persecute you for allied Pzs killing"
Kommandeur: " Now I gotta go"
