(OKM) Leutnant zur See Viking76, Kriegsmarine, reported: The allies where slamming the door in the zees pretty hard. From primarily a DD captain perspective it was a nightmare (Although allot of fun!)...
There was heavy and light Ship EWS all over the place. Luftwaffe was vastly outnumbered (as is the usual case in the Zeelands IMHO). I was the only one on the water. No recoon available from anyone except the folks defending kraben. So here is how that went down... I sailed around west side of stav. Turned east and was immediately engaged at 5k or so. After slugging it out for a bit my front mains where down. I flipped a uturn and tired to get a stern chase to happen. Rear mains gone on the 2nd hit. Bombed and listing as I make my escape north. The enemy destroyer (EDD) doesn't chase me but the bombers are still out and about. I cant fight the EDD because all of my mains are down. Contemplating my next move I check the mains again and my #1 main is working again. Now I have something to fight with so I sail around west of stav the same way because I am listing hard and wont make it much longer.
Hawk is buzzing me like a fly but has no egg and his Lazor doesn't do anything to me so I ignore it...
Here is where it gets interesting... I get the drop on two parked EDDs with several efmbs defending Gorisboek I engage them in a knife fight at ranges anywhere from 2k to 25m with my last main gun. I get broadside advantage on the first shot and keep it with a tight turn as they attempt to get underway and turn into me. EFMBs spawning like krazy kamikazies getting pounded with my 37s and both edds flamed and sinking. LW is trying their best to keep the bombers off of me now and a DB7 drops on me at close to mast height despawning right after. As all Enemy ships are sunk or burning and quickly sinking. I am still listing and on fire with no engine but in position to cover the docks. Check the map right as the Goris AO is pulled.
